Trail Blazers forward Deni Avdija will not play tonight against the Golden State Warriors because of lower back soreness, the team announced. The fourth-year forward has averaged 26.1 points, 7.1 rebounds and 6.9 assists in Portland’s first 40 games.

Portland may also be without forward Jerami Grant, who is listed as doubtful with left Achilles tendonitis.

In Minnesota, the Timberwolves ruled out guard Anthony Edwards for this evening’s matchup with the Milwaukee Bucks as he continues right foot injury maintenance. It is his eighth absence of the season; NBA rules will make him ineligible for postseason awards if he misses 10 more games.

Center Rudy Gobert will also sit out after receiving a one-game suspension for surpassing the league’s flagrant-foul threshold. The suspension will cost him $201,149, while the Timberwolves gain a $100,575 tax variance credit, according to ESPN.

Rookie guard Terrence Shannon Jr. is progressing from a left foot abductor hallucis strain but has no set return date. Tonight marks his 10th consecutive game on the sidelines. The 2024 first-round pick is averaging 4.5 points in 12.8 minutes over 22 appearances off the bench.

The Nuggets will be without guard Christian Braun for a second straight game because of a left ankle sprain. Braun attempted to warm up Sunday against Milwaukee but was ruled out after experiencing discomfort. He had missed nearly two months earlier in the season with a separate ankle injury.

The Thunder scratched swingman Luguentz Dort shortly before tip-off against the San Antonio Spurs due to left foot soreness.
