Free-agent forward Torrey Craig is close to reaching a contract agreement with the Sydney Kings of Australia’s National Basketball League, according to ESPN’s Olgun Uluc.

If the deal is finalized, the 35-year-old would suit up for Sydney for the remainder of the 2025-26 NBL campaign, which ends on February 20. The league’s postseason, known locally as the finals, runs through March and April.

Craig spent the past eight seasons in the NBA. He was waived by the Chicago Bulls in February 2025 and joined the Boston Celtics a few days later, finishing out the 2024-25 season in Boston. Although he expressed interest in returning to the Celtics in May, the club opted not to bring him back, and he remained unsigned by other NBA teams.

In November, Craig represented Team USA in two AmeriCup qualifying contests while showcasing himself to international scouts.

The 6’5” combo forward previously played three seasons in the NBL after going undrafted out of the University of South Carolina Upstate in 2014, using that stretch to springboard into an NBA career.

Across 458 NBA regular-season appearances, including 171 starts, Craig averaged 5.9 points and 3.9 rebounds in 19.5 minutes per game while shooting 45.2 percent from the field, 35.4 percent from beyond the arc and 70.1 percent at the foul line. He earned a reputation as a high-energy defender off the bench.
