The New Orleans Pelicans have told rival front offices they will not entertain trade offers for Zion Williamson, Herbert Jones, or Trey Murphy III ahead of the NBA’s Feb. 5 deadline, league sources told Chris Haynes.
Rookie forward Derik Queen and guard Jeremiah Fears are also considered unavailable, reinforcing management’s commitment to the current core despite the club’s 8-31 start.
Executive vice president Joe Dumars and assistant general manager Troy Weaver, who assumed control last spring, have faced months of speculation about a potential roster overhaul. For now, they are standing pat on their top assets.
Williamson, a two-time All-Star, is averaging 22.4 points when healthy, while Jones remains one of the league’s premier perimeter defenders. Murphy has developed into a dependable two-way scorer after signing a long-term extension.
New Orleans is not expected to remain completely idle. Veterans such as Jordan Poole, Saddiq Bey, Jose Alvarado, and Kevon Looney are still considered possible trade candidates as the deadline nears.
