NBA clubs had until 4:00 p.m. CT on Wednesday, Jan. 7, to release players with non-guaranteed 2025/26 salaries and avoid locking in the full amount. Thirty-two players on standard contracts were affected; decisions made this week will become official when salaries formally guarantee on Jan. 10.

Contracts Guaranteed

The following players remained on their rosters and will receive full-season guarantees:

  • Terry Rozier (Heat): $26,643,031
  • Dean Wade (Cavaliers): $6,623,456
  • Bismack Biyombo (Spurs): $3,634,153 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Russell Westbrook (Kings): $3,634,153 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Thomas Bryant (Cavaliers): $3,287,409 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Landry Shamet (Knicks): $3,080,921 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Amir Coffey (Bucks): $2,874,436 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Javonte Green (Pistons): $2,874,436 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Bones Hyland (Timberwolves): $2,461,463 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Lindy Waters III (Spurs): $2,461,463 (cap hit $2,296,274)
  • Precious Achiuwa (Kings): $2,453,285 (cap hit $2,111,516)
  • Justin Champagnie (Wizards): $2,349,578
  • Jordan Goodwin (Suns): $2,349,578
  • Vit Krejci (Hawks): $2,349,578
  • Keon Ellis (Kings): $2,301,587
  • Keaton Wallace (Hawks): $2,296,274
  • Moussa Diabaté (Hornets): $2,270,735
  • Brandon Williams (Mavericks): $2,270,735
  • Mouhamed Gueye (Hawks): $2,221,677
  • Trayce Jackson-Davis (Warriors): $2,221,677
  • Craig Porter Jr. (Cavaliers): $2,221,677
  • Gui Santos (Warriors): $2,221,677
  • Jordan Walsh (Celtics): $2,221,677
  • Jalen Wilson (Nets): $2,221,677
  • Tyrese Martin (Nets): $2,191,897
  • N’Faly Dante (Hawks): $2,048,494
  • Ariel Hukporti (Knicks): $1,955,377
  • Isaac Jones (Pistons): $1,955,377
  • Micah Potter (Pacers): $1,527,805
  • Mohamed Diawara (Knicks): $1,272,870

Except for Rozier and Wade—both of whom already had partial guarantees—every player retained on Jan. 7 is earning a veteran or rookie minimum salary, reducing the financial impact for their teams.

Players Waived Before the Cutoff

  • Tony Bradley (Pacers): $1,335,225
  • Mo Bamba (Raptors): $194,770

Bamba was signed by Toronto on Jan. 1, explaining his smaller cap charge. If another club claims him off waivers, the Raptors’ dead money disappears, but the claiming team must pick up the remainder of his salary.

Earlier Regular-Season Cuts

Several other partially or non-guaranteed contracts were terminated well before this week’s deadline:

  • Jaden Springer (Pelicans): $70,732
  • James Wiseman (Pacers): $1,000,000

Note: Subsequent 10-day deal raised his total Pacers cap hit to $1,131,970.
  • Mac McClung (Pacers): $177,731
  • Monte Morris (Pacers): $321,183
  • Jeremiah Robinson-Earl (Pacers): $325,365

Note: Two 10-day contracts increased his cap hit to $589,305.
  • Garrison Mathews (Pacers): $297,356

Note: Two 10-day contracts increased his cap hit to $561,296.

Two-Way Contracts

The Jan. 10 guarantee date also applies to two-way deals under the current CBA. Between Jan. 1 and the waiver deadline, five two-way players were released and will not receive full-season pay:

  • Tosan Evbuomwan (Knicks)
  • Trentyn Flowers (Bulls)
  • Mark Sears (Bucks)
  • Tyler Smith (Rockets)
  • Malik Williams (Hawks)

As of now, the Hawks, Bucks, and Knicks each have an open two-way slot. Teams can continue to add or replace two-way players until Mar. 4.
