January 7, 2026 — Toronto — The Toronto Raptors have been repeatedly connected to Sacramento Kings center Domantas Sabonis as the franchise weighs another “buy-low” move before next month’s trade deadline, according to Brett Siegel of ClutchPoints.
Toronto’s interest, first surfaced in December by Jake Fischer, has since been echoed by several outlets. Siegel adds that guard Malik Monk has also intrigued the Raptors, citing the relationship between Kings general manager Scott Perry and current Toronto veterans RJ Barrett and Immanuel Quickley, whom Perry drafted while working for the New York Knicks.
No formal negotiations involving Sabonis, Monk, Barrett and Quickley are known to be underway, yet league sources told Siegel that such a framework bears watching. If Toronto ultimately decides to move Barrett, several clubs are expected to inquire; the Milwaukee Bucks explored that possibility last season.
Warriors Survey Center Market
The Golden State Warriors have internally discussed numerous center targets, with Indiana’s Myles Turner and Milwaukee’s Bobby Portis among the names on their list, Siegel reports. Around the league, teams are monitoring Milwaukee’s stance on Portis; the Charlotte Hornets and Phoenix Suns are viewed as potential landing spots, possibly through multi-team trades.
Bucks Check on Jalen Green
Milwaukee has asked about Suns guard Jalen Green, but Phoenix is not prepared to part with the former No. 2 overall pick, per Siegel. Limited to two appearances this season because of a hamstring injury, Green is being treated internally as a de facto deadline addition for the Suns.
Nets Field Calls on Porter Jr. and Claxton
The Brooklyn Nets are listening to inquiries on forward Michael Porter Jr. and center Nic Claxton. However, Siegel notes that the organization is not actively shopping either player and would require at least one fully unprotected first-round pick to begin serious talks.
Coby White Drawing Broad Interest
Chicago Bulls guard Coby White has attracted attention from the Dallas Mavericks and Los Angeles Clippers, according to Siegel. The Minnesota Timberwolves have maintained interest, while some league insiders believe the Atlanta Hawks could pursue White should they move on from Trae Young.
Lakers Hunting Defensive Help
With premier options such as Herbert Jones likely unavailable, the Los Angeles Lakers are focusing on more attainable defenders. Bulls forward Isaac Okoro, Kings guard Keon Ellis, Nets wing Haywood Highsmith and Mavericks forward Naji Marshall are among the players on Los Angeles’ radar, Siegel writes.
The NBA trade deadline is set for February, leaving front offices several weeks to determine whether to buy, sell or stand pat.
