Karl-Anthony Towns attributed his latest sub-par performance with the New York Knicks to the challenge of learning the team’s “different system,” saying the adjustment period is affecting his play.

Speaking after the Knicks’ game on January 6, 2026, the 30-year-old center acknowledged he has yet to find his rhythm since joining the club and pointed to the new schemes on both ends of the floor as the primary reason.

Towns did not give a timeline for when he expects to be fully comfortable but emphasized that continued work in practice and increased on-court reps should help him regain his usual form.
