Nike Unveils Kobe 3 Protro Ad Starring Jalen Brunson and Natalia Bryant

Nike has released a new commercial for the Kobe 3 Protro, featuring New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson and Kobe Bryant’s eldest daughter, Natalia Bryant.
The 60-second spot debuted on August 19, ahead of the sneaker’s scheduled launch on August 23—Kobe Bryant’s birthday. Brunson, the NBA’s reigning Clutch Player of the Year, walks into a fictional shoe repair shop marked “0824,” a nod to Bryant’s jersey numbers 8 and 24. Inside, Natalia Bryant fine-tunes a pair of the new high-top Protros, while a shopkeeper references Kobe’s five NBA championships and “twin snakes” cuff links, alluding to the late star’s “Black Mamba” persona.
The Kobe 3 Protro is Nike’s latest release under the renewed agreement with the Bryant family, finalized after Kobe Bryant’s death in 2020. The commercial positions the shoe as “Certified Clutch,” echoing the on-court reputation that made Bryant a global icon.
Interest in Bryant-related products remains high. Earlier this year, a game-worn rookie jersey sold for $7 million, and a rare trading card fetched $2.3 million, the highest price ever paid for a Kobe Bryant card.
The Kobe 3 Protro will be available through Nike and select retailers starting August 23.
