The Toronto Raptors have secured veteran center Mo Bamba on a one-year contract, agents Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports and Greer Love told ESPN on Sunday.
Bamba, 27, has been averaging 16.5 points and 12 rebounds with the G League’s Salt Lake City Stars and is set to reinforce Toronto’s frontcourt in what will be his eighth NBA season. The 7-footer split last season between the Los Angeles Clippers and New Orleans Pelicans, posting 4.3 points, 4.5 rebounds and 12.9 minutes across 32 games.
Selected sixth overall by the Orlando Magic in the 2018 draft, Bamba has appeared in 364 regular-season contests, averaging 6.8 points and 5.4 rebounds.
The Raptors improved to 19-14 on Sunday after a 141-127 overtime victory against the Golden State Warriors. Scottie Barnes finished with 23 points, a career-high 25 rebounds that tied a franchise record, and 10 assists for his seventh career triple-double. Toronto played without starting center Jakob Poeltl, sidelined for the fifth time in six games because of a lower-back injury.
