Dallas, TX — The Dallas Mavericks have taken calls from the Atlanta Hawks, Toronto Raptors and Chicago Bulls regarding forward Anthony Davis, but each suitor is reportedly looking for a bargain deal the Mavericks have no intention of accepting.
Bleacher Report’s Jake Fischer said the three teams “want to get him for cheap,” while Dallas plans to hold out for the value general manager Nico Harrison targeted when he acquired Davis in a trade centered on Luka Dončić last season.
Davis, 30, has appeared in 14 games this year after missing time with a left calf strain. He is averaging 21.0 points, 11.6 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.1 steals and 1.6 blocks while shooting 51.7 percent from the field.
Since arriving in Dallas, the eight-time All-Star has played 23 total games and posted averages of 20.6 points and 11.0 rebounds. He is earning $54.1 million this season and becomes eligible in August for a four-year, $275 million extension. His contract does not include a no-trade clause.
League sources added that Dallas is also taking calls on other players, including Daniel Gafford, Klay Thompson and D’Angelo Russell, as the front office evaluates trade possibilities following Harrison’s dismissal.
