Golden State guard Stephen Curry expressed confidence in the Warriors’ current roster while acknowledging the benefit of adding “some pieces to help us get to the next level.”
Speaking at his youth basketball camp, the two-time NBA MVP said he is “not worried” about the team’s relatively quiet offseason, even as the front office works to resolve restricted free agent Jonathan Kuminga’s contract. Training camp opens in roughly six weeks.
“My confidence is built on the identity we created over the last third of the regular season and the playoff journey,” Curry told reporters, according to the San Francisco Chronicle.
Potential Targets Once Kuminga Deal Is Settled
Veterans Al Horford, De’Anthony Melton, Gary Payton II and Seth Curry have been linked to Golden State if the team frees up roster space after finalizing Kuminga’s contract.
Curry’s Offseason Focus
Entering his 17th NBA season, the 37-year-old said his summer routine now centers on movement, skill work and overall sharpness. Curry added that the strained hamstring that sidelined him for most of last spring’s second-round loss to Minnesota is no longer an issue.
“Pacing myself nice. Ready to finish the summer strong,” he said. “When you see me on Media Day, I should be primed and ready to go.”
