Basketball legend and team co-owner Michael Jordan said he felt compelled to file a lawsuit against NASCAR, insisting “someone had to step forward.”
The six-time NBA champion, who entered stock-car racing as a co-owner of 23XI Racing in 2020, described the legal action as necessary but did not elaborate on specific claims in comments made public Friday, Dec. 5, 2025.
“I had no choice,” Jordan said. “Someone had to step forward.”
Details of the complaint, the court where it was filed, and NASCAR’s response were not immediately available.
