Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves said he plans to travel to Slovenia this offseason to visit teammate Luka Doncic, strengthening a bond that has become one of the season’s on- and off-court storylines.
Reaves revealed his summer itinerary in an interview with Slovenian outlet Ekipa. He added that Doncic and his family are welcome to spend time with him in Arkansas, where Reaves grew up.
The two guards have turned their playful trash talk into production. Statistically, they rank among the NBA’s most potent backcourts, consistently pacing the Lakers’ offense. Their chemistry has been highlighted by light-hearted banter in interviews, with Doncic frequently joking that the pair “aren’t friends” while Reaves fires back with equal humor.
Despite the teasing, Doncic recently praised Reaves following a Lakers victory, calling him “one of the best players in the league” before quipping that it would be his last compliment. The camaraderie appears to support Reaves’ interest in staying with the franchise; he will enter unrestricted free agency next summer.
Whether Doncic will host Reaves in Slovenia or simply offer local recommendations remains uncertain, but the Lakers guards are expected to share more details once the offseason arrives.
