Apple and Spectrum SportsNet will deliver select Los Angeles Lakers games in Apple Immersive on the Apple Vision Pro headset during the 2025-2026 NBA season, the companies announced after more than a year of joint development.
Exact game dates will be released closer to the start of the season. Viewers will access the streams through a new Spectrum SportsNet app designed specifically for the Vision Pro.
How the service will work
• Live streams: Available to authenticated Spectrum SportsNet subscribers and Spectrum Internet customers in the Lakers’ broadcast region—Southern California, Hawaii, Las Vegas, and other parts of southern Nevada.
• Replays and highlights: Full-game replays and condensed clips will be offered to Vision Pro users in select countries through both the SportsNet and NBA apps.
Immersive production technology
The broadcasts will rely on URSA Cine Immersive Live cameras, capturing 8K, 3D video with a 180-degree field of view. One unit will sit at center court to simulate a courtside perspective at Crypto.com Arena, while additional cameras positioned behind each basket will provide baseline angles traditionally unavailable to fans. Viewers can look up to see the arena’s main scoreboard and ribbon boards as part of the fully immersive environment.
Current Vision Pro basketball options
Apple Vision Pro users already can watch conventional NBA game feeds in the Spectrum TV and NBA apps. The NBA app supports multiview for up to five 2D live games, real-time statistics for League Pass subscribers, and a tabletop mode that displays player movement on a virtual 3D court for selected matchups.
Hardware updates
The latest Vision Pro model, launched in October, features Apple’s M5 chip, an upgraded display system, and a Dual Knit Band that is adjustable for a customized fit.
The partnership aims to place fans at the center of Lakers action when the immersive streams debut next season.
