Thunder and Pistons Set the Pace in Latest Nov. 29 NBA Standings

The Oklahoma City Thunder and Detroit Pistons hold the best records in their respective conferences as the NBA released updated standings for Wednesday, Nov. 29.

Eastern Conference

Detroit tops the East at 15-4. The Toronto Raptors sit one game back at 14-5, while the Miami Heat follow at 13-6, two games off the lead. Rounding out the top five are the New York Knicks (12-6) and the Atlanta Hawks (12-8), each within 3.5 games of first place.

Four other clubs share identical 12-8 marks: the Cleveland Cavaliers, Orlando Magic and the previously mentioned Hawks. The Philadelphia 76ers and Boston Celtics are both 10-8, 4.5 games behind Detroit. The Chicago Bulls stand at 9-9.

Further down the table, the Milwaukee Bucks are 8-12. The Charlotte Hornets (5-14), Brooklyn Nets (3-15), Indiana Pacers (3-16) and Washington Wizards (2-16) round out the conference.

Western Conference

Oklahoma City remains the league’s top team at 19-1. The Los Angeles Lakers (14-4) trail by four games, while the Houston Rockets are 12-4, sitting five games back. The San Antonio Spurs and Denver Nuggets share 13-5 records, also five games behind the Thunder.

The Phoenix Suns are next at 12-8, followed by the Minnesota Timberwolves (10-8). The defending champion Golden State Warriors sit at 10-10. The Portland Trail Blazers (8-11) and Memphis Grizzlies (8-12) occupy the ninth and tenth spots.

The lower half of the West features the Utah Jazz at 6-12, the LA Clippers at 5-14, and a three-way tie among the Sacramento Kings, Dallas Mavericks and New Orleans Pelicans at 5-15, 5-15 and 3-16 respectively.

The standings will continue to shift as teams approach the quarter-mark of the regular season.
