Los Angeles — LA Clippers guard Chris Paul intends to retire at the end of the current campaign, his 21st in the league, according to sources familiar with the decision.

Paul, 40, informed teammates and club officials that the 2025-26 season will be his last, multiple sources told ESPN on Saturday. The veteran point guard later hinted at the move on social media, writing, “What a ride… Still so much left… GRATEFUL for this last one!!”

The 12-time All-Star owns an extensive resume that includes 11 All-NBA selections, nine All-Defensive nods, recognition as the 2006 Rookie of the Year, and a spot on the NBA’s 75th Anniversary Team. He begins his farewell stretch Saturday night in Charlotte, North Carolina, where the Clippers face the Hornets in his home state.

Paul’s career will officially conclude when the Clippers’ season ends in the spring, capping more than two decades of play that has secured his place as a future Hall of Famer.
