Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg will miss Wednesday night’s home game against the New York Knicks because of an illness, sources told ESPN.
The 18-year-old forward was listed on the injury report Wednesday morning along with forward Caleb Martin and skipped the team’s shootaround. The absence will be the first of the season for the No. 1 pick in the 2025 NBA draft.
Flagg had started all 15 games for the 4-11 Mavericks despite playing through left shoulder soreness and a sprained right thumb that has forced him to wear a splint in recent outings. He is averaging 15.5 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game.
