Sacramento, CA — Forward Keegan Murray is on track to make his season debut for the Sacramento Kings on Thursday against the Memphis Grizzlies, with Saturday’s game in Denver listed as a contingency, according to the Sacramento Bee.

Murray practiced with the G League’s Stockton Kings on Monday to complete a full-contact session and has been cleared for five-on-five activity. The fourth-year pro underwent surgery five weeks ago to repair a torn UCL in his left thumb, an injury sustained during the preseason. The original recovery timetable was four to six weeks.

Sacramento has struggled without its top perimeter defender, falling to 3-11, the second-worst record in the Western Conference. Murray signed a four-year, $140 million extension in July.

Spurs Add Castle to Injury List

The San Antonio Spurs confirmed that guard Stephon Castle suffered a left hip flexor strain revealed by an MRI on Monday. ESPN reports the reigning Rookie of the Year will be re-evaluated in one to two weeks.

Castle exited Sunday’s matchup with Sacramento after averaging 18.4 points, 7.8 assists, 6.3 rebounds and 1.8 steals on 50 percent shooting through the season’s first stretch. He joins Victor Wembanyama (calf strain) and Dylan Harper (calf strain) on the sideline. Point guard Jordan McLaughlin is also expected to miss time with a right hamstring strain suffered during a workout.

Despite the injuries, San Antonio has leaned on De’Aaron Fox, who has averaged 26 points and 10.5 assists over his past two appearances.

First 2026 Mock Draft Highlights

Kansas guard Darryn Peterson tops ESPN’s initial 2026 mock draft compiled by Jeremy Woo. Peterson began his high-school career at Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy in the Akron area, the same region that produced LeBron James.

BYU’s AJ Dybantsa is projected at No. 2, followed by Duke’s Cameron Boozer, Tennessee’s Nate Ament and North Carolina’s Caleb Wilson to round out the top five.
