DETROIT — The Detroit Pistons are putting the finishing touches on a one-year contract with free-agent forward Javonte Green, according to sources familiar with the negotiations.
Green, 32, divided the 2023-24 campaign between the New Orleans Pelicans and the Cleveland Cavaliers, contributing 5.1 points and 3.2 rebounds across 68 games. Listed at 6 feet 5 inches, he is expected to bolster a Detroit wing group that currently features Ausar Thompson, Jaden Ivey, Duncan Robinson, Caris LeVert and rookie Ronald Holland II.
The Alabama native has logged 263 regular-season appearances over parts of six NBA seasons with the Pelicans, Cavaliers, Chicago Bulls and Boston Celtics, holding a career scoring average of 5.3 points.
