Milwaukee Bucks forward Taurean Prince had surgery Thursday in Los Angeles to repair a herniated disk in his neck, the team said in a press release. No timetable was provided for his return, and the Bucks noted that further updates will be given as needed.

Prince, 31, is in his 10th NBA season and his second with Milwaukee. He re-signed with the club as a free agent last summer on a two-year contract that includes a $3.8 million player option for the 2026/27 season.

The veteran last appeared on Nov. 4. An MRI performed last week revealed the herniation, and after evaluating several treatment options, team doctors determined surgery was the best course.

Prince was the 12th overall pick in the 2016 draft. He played 80 games for Milwaukee in 2024/25, starting 73, and averaged 8.2 points, 3.6 rebounds, 1.9 assists and 1.0 steal in 27.1 minutes, while shooting 43.9% from three-point range. In eight games this season, he has posted 6.1 points, 1.6 rebounds, 1.0 assist and 0.8 steal across 21.1 minutes, connecting on 42.9% of his attempts from deep.

With Prince sidelined, forward Kyle Kuzma has taken on increased minutes, a trend expected to continue while Prince remains out.
