No Timetable for Kawhi Leonard’s Return as Clippers’ Troubles Deepen

Los Angeles — The Los Angeles Clippers still have no projected date for Kawhi Leonard’s comeback from what the club has labeled a “significant” injury, leaving the team shorthanded as its 2025–26 campaign continues to unravel.

The organization offered no new details on Leonard’s status on Thursday, Nov. 13, and head coach Tyronn Lue declined to set a target for the star forward’s return. Leonard, 34, has not appeared in a game this season after suffering the undisclosed setback during the preseason.

Without the two-time NBA Finals MVP, the Clippers have slid down the Western Conference standings and faced mounting criticism for their shaky performances on both ends of the court. Leonard’s absence has forced greater scoring and defensive burdens on Paul George and the rest of the roster, while the front office weighs potential roster moves to stabilize the team.

Leonard signed a four-year maximum extension with Los Angeles in 2024, but injuries have limited him to fewer than half of the team’s regular-season games over the past three years. The franchise has repeatedly emphasized caution with his rehabilitation, citing long-term health over short-term gains.
