Cleveland Cavaliers center Jarrett Allen sustained a fractured left ring finger during Wednesday night’s road loss to the Boston Celtics, the team announced on Thursday.
According to the Cavaliers, team physicians examined Allen after the game, and an X-ray at Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine revealed a non-displaced fracture of the distal phalanx. The 25-year-old will undergo additional treatment and evaluation over the next 24 hours and is officially listed as questionable for Friday’s matchup with the Toronto Raptors at Rocket Arena.
The injury deepens Cleveland’s health concerns. The Cavaliers (3-2) are already without Darius Garland (toe), Max Strus (foot) and Sam Merrill (hip). Merrill’s availability for Friday remains to be determined.
Friday’s contest is the first of four home games in the next five for Cleveland, a stretch the club hopes will aid both its rhythm and its recovery.
