Jamal Murray has opened the 2025-26 campaign on a tear, averaging 30.3 points, 6.0 assists and 5.0 rebounds through Denver’s first three games while shooting 53.0 percent from the field, 42.9 percent from three and 92.3 percent at the line. The guard has typically struggled in October, November and December, but his early production has fueled speculation about a potential first All-Star selection.

Head coach David Adelman said individual honors are secondary to winning. “How many All-Stars haven’t won championships? How many All-Stars don’t have a triple-double in the Finals?” he remarked, noting Murray’s postseason résumé.

Johnson dealing with shoulder issue

Starting forward Cameron Johnson exited Monday’s victory over Minnesota with what the team labeled right shoulder inflammation. Adelman said the shoulder was “bothersome” but not believed to be serious. Johnson is listed as questionable for Wednesday’s matchup with New Orleans, and veteran Tim Hardaway Jr. is expected to absorb additional minutes if needed.

Moses Brown’s next stop uncertain

Veteran center Moses Brown, who signed an Exhibit 10 deal for training camp and had his G League returning rights acquired by Denver, did not appear on the Grand Rapids Gold camp roster released Monday. The 7-foot-2 big man has logged 163 NBA games since his 2019 debut, but his immediate plans remain unclear.

Nuggets taking cautious approach with Holmes

First-round pick DaRon Holmes was assigned to Grand Rapids on Tuesday. After missing the entire 2024-25 season with an Achilles tear, the 6-foot-10 forward is expected to shuttle frequently between Denver and the G League affiliate as the club eases him back into full-time action. “DaRon has been nothing but positive,” Adelman said. “He can really shoot the ball, but you’ve got to remember he’s coming off an Achilles.”

The Nuggets host the Pelicans on Wednesday at Ball Arena.
