The Rip City Remix, the Portland Trail Blazers’ NBA G League affiliate, acquired 23-year-old forward Dillon Jones from the South Bay Lakers on October 27 2025. In return, South Bay receives two future first-round G League draft picks and the returning-player rights to guard Will Richardson.

Jones, selected first overall in the G League draft held the previous Saturday, entered the professional ranks as the 26th pick in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Weber State product appeared in 54 games as an NBA rookie, averaging 2.5 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.1 assists across 10.2 minutes per contest.

Oklahoma City dealt Jones to the Washington Wizards in June to open a roster spot. Washington waived him before its season opener, leaving the Wizards responsible for the remaining $2,753,280 on his 2025-26 salary after he cleared waivers.

Portland currently holds a full 15-man roster and all three two-way slots are occupied, so any move to bring Jones onto the NBA squad would require a corresponding transaction.
