The Los Angeles Lakers saw their seven-game winning streak snapped Monday night, falling 125-108 to the Phoenix Suns at Crypto.com Arena.

Los Angeles entered the matchup seeking an eighth straight victory but struggled in the second half of a back-to-back and slipped to 15-5 on the season. Phoenix improved to 12-8.

Fast start, even first quarter

Luka Doncic opened the game with four quick points and assisted Austin Reaves on a corner three, while LeBron James added a layup to give the Lakers an early 15-9 cushion. Dillon Brooks responded with six points for the Suns, and the quarter turned into a duel between Doncic and Devin Booker. Doncic scored 20 in the period, Booker had 11, and the teams ended the frame tied at 31-31.

Suns seize control before halftime

James and Reaves produced five straight points to start the second quarter, but Phoenix answered with a 7-0 run to take the lead. Booker exited with a groin injury and did not return, yet Brooks assumed the scoring load while Los Angeles committed a series of turnovers. The Suns capitalized, carrying a 66-52 advantage into intermission.

Brooks leads third-quarter surge

Phoenix maintained momentum after the break, repeatedly finding Brooks for tough baskets while the Lakers showed fatigue outside of sporadic offense from Doncic. Multiple timeouts by head coach JJ Redick failed to shift the energy, and Los Angeles trailed 96-77 entering the fourth.

Gillespie buries rally hopes

The Lakers opened the final period with four unanswered points but quickly lost possession on consecutive trips. Collin Gillespie punished those mistakes with a series of three-pointers, pushing the margin to 24 and effectively sealing the outcome. James scored late to keep his double-figure scoring streak intact before both starters left the floor.

Road trip ahead

Los Angeles begins a three-game trip Thursday in Toronto, followed by a visit to Boston on Friday. Phoenix continues its own schedule Wednesday night at home.
