Former Los Angeles Lakers star Pau Gasol made a family trip to Crypto.com Arena on Sept. 2, 2025, attending the Los Angeles Sparks’ victory over the Seattle Storm with his young son and daughter.
The two-time NBA champion was greeted with applause from fans as he walked the arena’s corridors—hallways he crossed countless times during his playing career. After the game, Gasol shared the moment on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “How many times have I walked this hallway? And now, walking it with my children while I hold their hands,” alongside a photo of the trio.
Speaking to Spectrum SportsNet, the 44-year-old described the outing as an opportunity to introduce his children to women’s basketball. “I’m super excited to be here to watch the Sparks, for my daughter to get exposed to women’s basketball and sports in general,” he said. “I’m enjoying being a dad, enjoying being a girl dad and for her to get inspired.”
The Sparks’ win kept their postseason hopes alive in a tightly contested WNBA playoff race. Gasol, a longtime advocate for women’s sports, has frequently highlighted the game’s growth and the importance of visibility for young fans.
During the arena visit, Gasol also looked ahead to the 2025-26 NBA season, expressing enthusiasm about the Lakers’ blockbuster trade for Luka Dončić. He acknowledged the move caught him off guard but said he is eager to see the superstar guard lead Los Angeles when the new campaign tips off.
