The NBA on Friday unveiled the full set of playing surfaces for the 2025-26 Emirates NBA Cup, including a new, tournament-only floor for the Los Angeles Lakers.
The upcoming season marks the third edition of the in-season competition first introduced in 2023-24. Los Angeles captured the inaugural title, while the Milwaukee Bucks won last year. Beyond a financial bonus for the champions, the tournament is distinguished by customized courts used exclusively for Cup games.
Key features shared by all 30 courts
League officials outlined six design elements common to every Emirates NBA Cup floor:
- An angled, team-specific gradient signifying the club’s primary colors and its conference. The Lakers’ version centers on a gold gradient.
- A court apron that matches each team’s Nike Statement Edition uniform; for Los Angeles, the apron is purple.
- Mandatory use of the Statement Edition jerseys in all Cup contests.
- A symbolic “55 grid” etched into the hardwood to represent 5-on-5 play.
- Prominent placement of the host city or state at mid-court. The Lakers will display their “LA” logo.
- Personalized touches highlighting franchise history. Los Angeles’ floor includes 17 championship stars along the sideline and an engraving beneath the center-court trophy commemorating the club’s 2023 Cup victory.

Group play opens Friday, Oct. 31. The Lakers’ full slate is below:

Should Los Angeles advance, the knockout rounds are set for Dec. 9-10 (quarterfinals), Dec. 13 (semifinals) and Dec. 16 (championship).
