LeBron James’ season debut on Tuesday, Nov. 18, 2025, sparked a 140-126 Los Angeles Lakers win over the Utah Jazz at Crypto.com Arena. The night marked the first time this year that James, Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves played together, while reserve guard Gabe Vincent also returned from injury, giving head coach Darvin Ham a complete roster.
After the victory, Doncic said the primary objective is to strengthen on-court cohesion each time out. “I mean, honestly, just keep winning games,” the guard stated. “Those first practices we had yesterday, we had all the guys available. It was kind of amazing… We’ve got to go game by game. We can’t let go and just keep building this chemistry in this team.”
The Lakers opened slowly on defense, struggling to contain Utah’s early shooting, but eventually settled in. Once the offense clicked, ball movement flourished, a development Doncic attributed to the versatility of the team’s main playmakers. “I would say it’s the level of skill set for sure,” he noted. “I think AR, LeBron and me, we’re the facilitators. I think we can find a lot of open guys. We can share the ball, and that’s what we did in the second half.”
James and Doncic combined for 22 of Los Angeles’ 31 assists, underscoring the team’s potential when fully staffed. Asked about the Lakers’ ceiling, Doncic kept the focus narrow. “Honestly, I haven’t thought about it… There’s a lot of games in the NBA, so we’ve got to go game by game. I think we have a lot of potential.”
The Jazz matchup offered a brief look at what a healthy Lakers lineup can achieve as the season progresses.
