LOS ANGELES — Luka Doncic will suit up for his sixth NBA All-Star Game on Sunday, marking his first selection since joining the Los Angeles Lakers last season. Speaking during All-Star Media Day at the Intuit Dome on Feb. 14, 2026, the 27-year-old guard called the experience “a blessing” and vowed to savor every moment.

“I’m going to look back at it,” Doncic said. “I’m a six-time All-Star now, and not everybody can say that. So I’m just taking everything in and enjoying it.”

Limited court time planned

Doncic missed the Lakers’ four games before the break with a strained hamstring but confirmed he is healthy enough to play “a little bit” in the mid-season exhibition. The game’s Los Angeles location eliminates travel, allowing the superstar to manage his workload as he eases back from injury.

Strong debut season in purple and gold

In his first full campaign with the Lakers, the former Dallas Mavericks standout leads the NBA in scoring at 32.8 points per game and ranks third in assists at 8.6. Despite multiple injuries across the roster, Los Angeles remains in contention for home-court advantage in the crowded Western Conference, a position Doncic credited to teammates who “stepped up” during his absence.

Looking forward to sharing the floor with elite talent

While recent All-Star Weekends have drawn criticism, Doncic said the opportunity to play alongside and against the league’s best remains special. “Just the game,” he responded when asked what excites him most. “Playing with the best guys in the world—being there, taking in the moment, and enjoying it.”
