Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has arranged for a six-year-old supporter who went viral during Tuesday night’s overtime win against the Denver Nuggets to attend the team’s next home contest on March 27.
The child, Jackson “Turbo” Tuyay, stole the spotlight at Crypto.com Arena on March 6 when arena cameras repeatedly showed him flexing and shouting while wearing an oversized Shaquille O’Neal jersey. His enthusiasm earned him the arena’s “Fan of the Game” honor and energized the crowd throughout the Lakers’ 128-124 victory.
According to the Los Angeles Times, a representative from Doncic’s camp contacted the Tuyay family after the game and offered tickets for the Lakers’ upcoming matchup with the Brooklyn Nets. Head coach JJ Redick and forward LeBron James each praised the youngster, with James telling reporters that Tuyay’s energy “helped push us over the top.” It was Jackson’s first Lakers game, a gift from his father, Byron, a longtime fan of the franchise.
The March 27 appearance will give the team another boost as the Lakers continue a stretch of pivotal home games. Redick noted after the win that having James operate as the club’s third offensive option behind Doncic and Austin Reaves is “ideal for how we’re built right now.”
For Jackson, the invitation caps an unforgettable debut at Crypto.com Arena and cements his new status as a fixture at future Lakers events.
