Luka Doncic Drops Additional Weight, Enters Playoffs Pain-Free

Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic has shed another seven pounds since the 2025-26 season began, according to a longtime friend who spoke with writer Aleksander Hemon on LinkedIn. The update follows an offseason in which the All-NBA star arrived at training camp noticeably leaner than in previous years.

The friend, who asked not to be identified, said Doncic’s commitment to nutrition, mobility drills, strength work, and improved sleep has eliminated the right-calf pain that bothered him in 2024. “He feels light on his feet, his explosiveness is back,” the source told Hemon, adding that the 27-year-old “is fully healthy heading into the playoffs.”

Doncic’s slimmer frame has coincided with one of the best campaigns of his career. He is tracking toward his second scoring title while showing increased activity on defense, jumping passing lanes for steals and contesting shots more frequently.

One-Game Suspension

Despite the positive physical progress, Doncic will miss the Lakers’ upcoming matchup with the Washington Wizards after receiving his 16th technical foul of the season, triggering an automatic one-game suspension. Head coach JJ Redick said the superstar is disappointed he cannot suit up for the contest.
