The Slovenian Basketball Federation announced Sunday that Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic will rejoin national-team practice on Monday, one day after leaving an exhibition game against Latvia with an apparent right-knee injury.
Doncic, 26, scored 15 points in the first quarter and finished the first half with 26 points, four rebounds and five assists during Saturday’s tune-up in Riga. Early in the third quarter, a teammate vying for a rebound fell into the All-Star’s leg, prompting Doncic to limp to the locker room for evaluation. He did not return to the contest but later emerged on the bench and appeared upbeat.
In a statement translated from Slovenian, the federation said the Lakers star “finished the game against Latvia without injury” and will be available when Slovenia resumes EuroBasket preparations Monday. The team is scheduled to host Great Britain on Tuesday at Arena Stožice in Ljubljana.
The Lakers, who signed Doncic to a long-term extension earlier this offseason, are counting on the three-time All-NBA selection for their 2025-26 title push. He has impressed in two preseason outings for Slovenia, arriving at camp noticeably leaner after an offseason focused on conditioning.
Doncic was traded from the Dallas Mavericks to Los Angeles in February and is entering his first full season with the Lakers.
