Los Angeles, CA — November 26, 2025
Luka Doncic recorded 43 points in the Los Angeles Lakers’ 116-108 win over the Los Angeles Clippers on Tuesday night, giving him the 10th-most 40-point performances in franchise history.
The 26-year-old guard poured in 32 points before halftime at Crypto.com Arena and finished one rebound shy of a triple-double, adding nine boards and 13 assists. The outburst marked his fifth 40-point game of the 2025-26 season and his seventh since joining the Lakers last year.
According to the team, only nine players—led by Kobe Bryant—now have more 40-point outings in a Lakers uniform than Doncic. The performance also produced several additional milestones:
- Doncic registered his 39th career 40-point double-double, moving past Anthony Davis for fourth place among active players.
- He tied Magic Johnson for the sixth-most 40-point double-doubles in Lakers history with five.
- His 51st overall 40-point game moved him ahead of Russell Westbrook to seventh among active NBA players.
- Doncic matched Bryant and Shaquille O’Neal for the most 40-point double-doubles by a Laker before age 27 since the NBA-ABA merger.
Doncic is averaging an NBA-best 35.2 points along with 8.8 rebounds and 9.2 assists through the season’s first month.
Altercation Leads to Promise to Cover Fine
The game featured a brief confrontation in which Clippers guard Kris Dunn was ejected for a shove at Doncic. Lakers center Jaxson Hayes received a technical foul for retaliating, and Doncic said afterward he will pay any league fine Hayes receives.
The Lakers improved to 12-5 with the victory and return to action Friday against the Phoenix Suns.
