Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James spent part of his summer training alongside Atlanta Hawks wing Jalen Johnson, continuing his preparations for the 2025-26 campaign. The joint workout was highlighted in a video posted August 25, 2025, on the Hawks’ official X account with the caption “Iron sharpens iron.”
The session brings together two players represented by Klutch Sports, a shared agency connection that often facilitates offseason workouts among its clients. For James, entering an unprecedented 23rd NBA season, the workout is part of his regular routine to maintain peak condition. Johnson, meanwhile, is looking to build on a promising 2024-25 run that was interrupted by injury.
James began the offseason rehabbing and spending time with family before resuming full basketball activities. The Lakers addressed several roster needs over the summer, and new head coach JJ Redick is tasked with integrating those pieces around the four-time MVP.
Johnson, known for his athleticism and versatility on the wing, has been identified by Atlanta as a core piece of its future. Training alongside one of the league’s longest-tenured stars offers him additional insight as he prepares for his fourth NBA season.
In a separate offseason initiative, James announced plans to visit China in September for his 15th tour with Nike, continuing his long-standing global outreach in support of basketball growth.
