LeBron James dismissed worries about the Los Angeles Lakers’ outside shooting after a 108–106 win over the Utah Jazz on Nov. 23, 2025 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
The Lakers hit just 26 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc against Utah and sit 26th in the NBA in three-point percentage while ranking last in total threes made. Despite those numbers, the team is 12-4 thanks to strong production in the paint and at the free-throw line.
“It won’t last. I’m not worried about it,” James said on Spectrum SportsNet. “We’ve got too many good shooters. We’re getting great looks … the numbers will average out.”
Forward Rui Hachimura is the club’s only above-average long-range shooter so far, connecting on 48.3 percent of his threes. James noted that many of the team’s misses have come on open shots generated through unselfish play.
“If we were out there not creating great looks or playing selfish basketball, that’s not our MO,” he said. “Even when we’re not shooting well we can still win ballgames, and tonight it took us to the last possession to get the stop we needed.”
Austin Reaves, Jake LaRavia, Luka Dončić and James himself have historically posted better percentages from deep, and the Lakers expect those numbers to rise as the season progresses.
Off the court, former teammate Kevin Love told reporters he does not believe this will be James’ final NBA season, predicting the 20-year veteran will play at least one more year.
