Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James has partnered with University of Southern California standout JuJu Watkins to release a new edition of his LeBron NXXT Gen basketball shoe, Nike announced on Feb. 11, 2026.
The model, officially named the “Silver Lining” Nike LeBron NXXT Gen by JuJu, marks the first time an athlete other than James has co-designed a version of the NXXT Gen line. Introduced in 2023, the series targets younger players with a focus on support and responsiveness.
Design and Construction
The sneaker features a mesh-and-leather upper, a full-length React foam midsole, and a Zoom Air unit in the forefoot. According to Nike, the “Silver Lining” color scheme symbolizes growth that occurs away from public view.
Statements from the Collaborators
LeBron James: “JuJu is a great ambassador of today’s game. It’s exciting to share the NXXT Gen platform with her for a shoe.”
JuJu Watkins: “Working with LeBron to co-create a first is wild. It’s built for my game, my story, and for the next generation.”
Release Details
Nike plans to launch the shoe this summer on Nike.com and at selected Nike retailers. James debuted the pair on court against Golden State earlier this month.
Background on Watkins
Watkins, a guard for the USC Trojans, has been sidelined since tearing her ACL in March 2025 but remains one of college basketball’s most followed athletes.
Additional Note on James
Separately, James will be ineligible for 2025-26 regular-season NBA awards after missing more games than league rules allow.
