The Los Angeles Lakers have signed center Drew Timme to a two-way contract and waived fellow big man Christian Koloko to open the roster spot, the team confirmed on Tuesday.

Timme, 24, joins the NBA club after a standout start with the South Bay Lakers, where he was named G League Player of the Week. According to agents Deddrick Faison and Rich Gray, the 6-foot-10 center averaged 25.5 points, eight rebounds and four assists during his brief stint in El Segundo.

The Gonzaga product finished the 2024-25 NBA season with the Brooklyn Nets, appearing in nine games and posting 12.1 points and 7.2 rebounds per contest. His new two-way deal allows him to appear in up to 40 regular-season games for Los Angeles; he would require an upgrade to a standard contract to be eligible for the playoffs.

Koloko, 25, departs after two seasons in which he struggled to secure a consistent role. Head coach JJ Redick has primarily relied on Deandre Ayton and Jaxson Hayes in the frontcourt, though Timme could see minutes when injuries strike—Ayton is currently managing a knee contusion.

Los Angeles continues to utilize its G League pipeline for roster depth, having previously uncovered players such as Austin Reaves and Alex Caruso through similar avenues.
