Lakers Reportedly Targeting Naji Marshall, DeAndre Hunter, Donte DiVincenzo and Keon Ellis Before Trade Deadline

With the NBA trade deadline only days away, the Los Angeles Lakers are surveying the market for perimeter help that could bolster their championship push, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Reporters Broderick Turner and Thuc Nhi Nguyen list four primary targets: Dallas wing Naji Marshall, Cleveland forward DeAndre Hunter, Minnesota guard Donte DiVincenzo and Sacramento guard Keon Ellis. Each player is viewed as a potential two-way contributor capable of tightening Los Angeles’ perimeter defense.

The Lakers have also shown interest in New Orleans wings Trey Murphy III and Herbert Jones, but sources told the Times that the Pelicans’ asking price remains steep, prompting rival clubs to monitor whether demands drop before the deadline.

Ellis, shooting better than 41 percent from three-point range for his career, is noted for point-of-attack defense. Marshall provides size and versatility on the wing, while Hunter offers length against larger forwards despite a down year from beyond the arc. DiVincenzo, a career 38 percent three-point shooter, has a track record of guarding both backcourt spots and delivering in high-pressure moments.

Los Angeles has limited draft capital available, which could force the front office to move rotation players. According to the report, forward Rui Hachimura may be included in offers if management believes the return meaningfully elevates the roster.
