Los Angeles Lakers President of Business Operations Lon Rosen said the organization intends to leverage Luka Doncic’s international popularity to strengthen the franchise’s global presence.
Speaking recently with the Southern California News Group, Rosen described the 27-year-old Slovenian guard as “one of the most popular players in the world” and noted that the club hopes to “jump on his shoulders and see what we can reach out there.”
Doncic, acquired by Los Angeles to headline the next era after stars such as Jerry West, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, already commands a substantial overseas following. Rosen emphasized that combining that appeal with the Lakers’ established brand creates “endless” marketing possibilities.
The executive draws on prior experience promoting international talent from his tenure with Major League Baseball’s Los Angeles Dodgers. He is expected to implement similar strategies to elevate Doncic’s profile and, by extension, the Lakers’ worldwide outreach.
While front-office plans unfold, Doncic remains focused on on-court matters. The five-time All-Star recently addressed the team’s mindset during a three-game skid, stressing the need for concentration and unity as Los Angeles works to regain momentum.
