NBA 2K on Thursday released its top-10 player ratings for NBA 2K26, placing Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James at 94 overall, seventh best in the game.
The update arrived via the video game’s official X account on Aug. 21, 2025, confirming that James trails Nikola Jokić (98), Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (98), Giannis Antetokounmpo (98), Luka Dončić (95) and Anthony Edwards (95). He is level with Stephen Curry, Jayson Tatum and Victor Wembanyama (all 94) and sits one point ahead of Kevin Durant (93).
James’ Lakers teammate Dončić being rated higher gives Los Angeles the highest-ranked duo on the 2K26 roster. Guard Austin Reaves is the club’s third-best digital representative at 85 overall.
Entering Year 23
The 2025-26 campaign will mark James’ 23rd NBA season, the most in league history. The 40-year-old opted into his player contract for one more year, signaling his intent to pursue a fifth championship with the Lakers.
Last season, James guided Los Angeles to the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference and earned All-NBA Second Team honors. The performance convinced the front office that the veteran remains a cornerstone talent.
Future in Los Angeles Uncertain
Team president and general manager Rob Pelinka has said he will honor whatever decision James makes about his career, though he added it would be “great” if the four-time MVP finished his playing days in purple and gold.
