Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James is already looking beyond the court, detailing his post-retirement objectives during a recent appearance on Complex’s “360 With Speedy.”

Entering his 23rd NBA season at age 40, James has opted into the final year of his contract and remains focused on capturing a fifth championship. While still performing at an All-NBA level—he placed sixth in 2024-25 MVP voting—the 21-time All-Star acknowledged that his playing days are winding down and outlined the next chapter he hopes to write.

Building a Storytelling Powerhouse

James said his goal is to transform his multimedia company, Uninterrupted, into a premier destination for creators across entertainment.

I want to build the greatest storytelling company there is,” he told host Speedy Morman. “When people start coming up with ideas, they think of us. We do shows, podcasts, movies, TV, cartoons—everything. I feel like Disney and all those, they’ve done enough. We want people to pitch to us.”

The four-time MVP has already expanded his presence in media, launching the basketball podcast “Mind the Game” and starring in the 2021 film “Space Jam: A New Legacy.” Uninterrupted, founded in 2015, now produces a range of content including documentaries, series, and digital programs.

Still Chasing a Fifth Title

Despite mapping out his future in entertainment, James reiterated that his immediate priority remains on-court success. The Lakers, now featuring Luka Dončić, will attempt to secure the franchise’s 18th championship—one that would give James his first Larry O’Brien Trophy since 2020.

Whether that title bid succeeds or not, James made clear that his competitive drive will continue off the hardwood as he seeks to elevate Uninterrupted into a media heavyweight.
