The Los Angeles Lakers are preparing to welcome LeBron James back to action after a month-long absence, and guard Austin Reaves says the team’s excitement is palpable.

James, sidelined since the start of the regular season, is expected to take part fully in Monday’s practice as the Lakers return to Los Angeles following a 3-2 road trip. During that stretch, the club improved to 10-4 overall and capped the trip with a 119-95 victory over the Milwaukee Bucks.

Speaking to Spectrum SportsNet, Reaves described how much the four-time NBA champion’s presence means to the roster. “There’s a lot of excitement for the things that we can do as a group,” he said. “I’m sure he’s sitting at his house while we’re playing, probably drinking a little bit of wine, watching the game and seeing what exactly he can do to help this team be successful.”

Reaves added that James’ experience and leadership should immediately bolster the squad on both ends of the floor. “He’s a winner at the end of the day,” the third-year guard noted. “I expect him to do nothing but come in and be one of the best players.”

Los Angeles has historically struggled without James, but offseason acquisition Luka Doncic helped the team stay afloat, allowing the 20-year veteran to focus on reaching full health. With James set to rejoin a lineup that is already six games over .500, the Lakers hope to build on their early momentum as the homestand begins.
