Los Angeles Lists Austin Reaves as Questionable for Nets Finale

The Los Angeles Lakers on Monday released their latest injury report ahead of Tuesday night’s matchup with the Brooklyn Nets, the final contest of the club’s eight-game road swing. Guard Austin Reaves is again designated as questionable because of a left calf strain, while Bronny James (left leg soreness) is also questionable and forward Adou Thiero (right MCL sprain) remains out.
Reaves, 27, has been sidelined since Christmas Day with his second calf issue of the season. Team officials have stressed caution, noting that returning before the strain is fully healed could elevate the risk of a more severe injury such as an Achilles tear.
Head coach JJ Redick said after Sunday’s loss to the New York Knicks that Reaves is “day-to-day, game-to-game,” adding, “We’ll hopefully have him for Tuesday [against the Brooklyn Nets], but he’s got to feel 100 percent confident.” The Nets meeting marks the third straight game in which Reaves has carried a questionable tag; he ultimately sat out the previous two when discomfort persisted.
Los Angeles has posted a 4-3 record on the trip without the third-year guard. Should he dress in Brooklyn, Reaves is expected to face a minutes restriction as he rebuilds game fitness.
Mavericks star Luka Dončić, who has battled multiple calf strains himself, advised patience when asked about his former backcourt partner. “It’s definitely hard with a calf,” Dončić said. “We just want him to be healthy. If he’s not ready to come back, don’t come back. But obviously, we’d love to have him out there.”
