Dec. 18, 2025 — Luka Doncic recorded a 45-point triple-double and LeBron James added a highlight-reel dunk as the Los Angeles Lakers defeated the Utah Jazz 143-135 at Delta Center in Salt Lake City.
The Lakers entered the night without Austin Reaves, Deandre Ayton and Gabe Vincent, while Utah was missing Lauri Markkanen. Despite the shortened rotation, Los Angeles erased a first-half deficit by tightening its defense after intermission and converting stops into transition points.
Doncic led all scorers, finishing with 45 points, 11 rebounds, 14 assists and five steals. The All-Star guard buried multiple deep three-pointers in the fourth quarter to preserve the Lakers’ lead.
James, the NBA’s oldest active player, contributed 25 points, seven rebounds and 10 assists. His fourth-quarter poster dunk energized the crowd and pushed Los Angeles ahead for good.
Marcus Smart supplied timely shooting, scoring 17 points on 6-of-11 from the field and 5-of-9 from long range, including several clutch baskets late.
The win moves Los Angeles to its next matchup Sunday at Intuit Dome, where it faces the L.A. Clippers before embarking on another road trip.
