A rare 2000 Upper Deck jersey combo autograph card featuring both Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan sold for $869,250, topping Heritage Auctions’ Spring Sports Card Catalog Auction held April 3-4.
The card, numbered 05/10, includes on-card signatures and game-worn jersey swatches from the two NBA icons. Heritage Auctions reported total sales of $13,775,001 for the event.
“This card is one of the most important and desirable early Upper Deck trading cards as the first issue in hobby history to offer dual-swatch auto cards,” said Chris Ivy, Heritage’s Director of Sports Auctions. “Not only is it exceedingly rare, it also is the first card ever dual-signed by Kobe Bryant and Michael Jordan.”
Record Results Across the Catalog
The Jordan-Bryant piece more than doubled the price of the auction’s second-highest lot, a 1957 Topps Bob Cousy Rookie No. 17 graded PSA Mint 9 that realized $353,800, smashing the previous $60,000 record for that card.
Additional notable sales included:
- 1998 SkyBox Molten Metal Kobe Bryant Fusion-Titanium — $207,400 (record for the card)
- Shohei Ohtani–Aaron Judge MLB Gold Logoman MVP Autograph Relic — $219,600
- 1955 Topps Jackie Robinson PSA Mint 9 — $231,800 (more than double the prior $93,000 mark)
Lakers Preparing for Postseason Push
While memorabilia connected to Bryant drew headline numbers, the current Los Angeles Lakers are focused on postseason readiness after injuries to leading scorers Luka Doncic and Austin Reaves disrupted their late-season momentum. Head coach JJ Redick said the staff is concentrating on identifying the nine players who are “locked in together and willing to fight” once the playoffs begin.
