Katowice, Poland — August 30, 2025. Luka Doncic poured in 39 points, yet Slovenia dropped its second straight FIBA EuroBasket 2025 Group D game, losing to France at Spodek Arena.
The Dallas Mavericks star packed the box score with eight rebounds, nine assists and two steals. He shot 8-for-20 from the field, hit 4-of-10 from deep and converted 19 of 20 free-throw attempts. Despite the effort, France erased a 54-47 halftime deficit and outscored Slovenia by 15 in the second half to secure the win.
France leaned on guard Sylvain Francisco, who finished with 32 points on 60 percent shooting and a perfect 12-for-12 at the line. Four other French players reached double figures, while only three Slovenians hit that mark.
The loss drops Slovenia to 0-2 in group play after an opening defeat to host Poland, when Doncic scored 34. France improved to 2-0.
