Los Angeles Lakers guard Luka Doncic became the first NBA player since Michael Jordan in 1986 to average 40 points across six straight road games, according to ESPN. The milestone was sealed on March 25, 2026, when Doncic poured in 43 points during a 5-1 trip-closing win over the Indiana Pacers at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis.

The 27-year-old star delivered 37.8 points per contest over the Lakers’ overall six-game stretch, the franchise’s highest such figure since Kobe Bryant. His production came from all areas of the floor, including drives to the rim, perimeter shooting and frequent visits to the free-throw line.

Doncic’s outburst also helped Los Angeles post its best multi-city swing of the season. The Lakers won five of six games away from Crypto.com Arena, with Doncic eclipsing the 40-point mark three times during the trip.

Historic all-around numbers

The scoring surge capped a broader 10-game span in which Doncic amassed more than 390 points, 80 rebounds, 70 assists and 25 steals—figures no player had previously reached in the same window.

The Mavericks’ former All-Star routinely engaged opposing crowds throughout the trip, appearing unfazed by road environments while anchoring Los Angeles’ push up the Western Conference standings.
