ORLANDO, Fla. — LeBron James added another milestone to his résumé Saturday night, passing Hall of Famer Robert Parish to become the NBA’s all-time leader in games played during the Los Angeles Lakers’ 108-105 win over the Orlando Magic at Kia Center.

Dirk Nowitzki, who spent 21 seasons with the Dallas Mavericks and mentored current Laker Luka Doncic, was seated courtside to witness the moment. “LeBron’s been incredible. Super happy for him and it’s fun to watch,” Nowitzki said in a video posted by the NBA on X.

James, 41, is now first in league history for games played as well as for regular-season and postseason minutes combined. Despite the heavy mileage, he remains a key contributor; he opened Saturday’s game with a first-quarter dunk and finished with 28 points, eight assists and seven rebounds.

Only a handful of players — including Nowitzki, Vince Carter and the late Kobe Bryant — have reached a 20-year career. None have matched James’s statistical production this deep into their tenure. Parish, whose record James broke, publicly said the four-time MVP is “deserving” of the mark.

Thrilling Finish in Orlando

The Lakers secured their fourth straight victory when guard Luke Kennard drained a buzzer-beating three-pointer. After the game, James described the final play that freed Kennard in the left corner for the winning shot, noting the team “executed exactly what was drawn up.”
