Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry revealed that he and Los Angeles Lakers forward LeBron James have held multiple conversations about joining forces on a business project once their playing days end.

Speaking to reporter Nick Friedell of The Athletic while boarding the team bus in Portland, Curry said the two superstars have “talked a decent amount” about working together despite their demanding NBA schedules. “I would love to do more stuff with him,” Curry said. “It’s in the sense of finding common ground where we get to really amplify what we all bring to the table. For business down the road, absolutely, but I’m excited about that when it happens.”

Curry added that any collaboration would be designed to benefit future athletes. “It’s cool to kind of plant the flag for a new energy of longevity and all that—on top of becoming not just a basketball player, but business, philanthropy, all that stuff—creating a great framework for opportunity for the next generation of players,” he explained.

James, 39, and Curry, 36, have combined for eight NBA championships and six MVP awards during careers that have frequently intersected in the postseason. Although the Lakers and Warriors are currently considered fringe contenders, matchups between the two continue to draw large television audiences.

The pair have forged a mutual respect that extends beyond the court through extensive charitable work in their respective communities. Curry noted that their relationship has grown closer in recent years, making a future partnership increasingly likely.

The Warriors star also praised James for recent progress on the golf course. According to Curry, video clips that once showed James struggling with his swing no longer tell the full story, as the Lakers forward has made noticeable improvements.

Specific details about the potential venture, including timeline and focus, have not been disclosed.
