The Los Angeles Dodgers dedicated Friday night, Aug. 8, 2025, to Kobe Bryant, presenting a special bobblehead of the late Los Angeles Lakers legend during their matchup with the Toronto Blue Jays at Dodger Stadium.
Vanessa Bryant and daughters Natalia, Bianka and Capri were on hand for the ceremony. Bianka delivered the ceremonial first pitch, while Capri announced the signature pre-game phrase, “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball,” to a standing ovation from the crowd.

The Dodgers capped the tribute with a 5-1 victory. Left-hander Clayton Kershaw surrendered one earned run over six innings, and Mookie Betts powered the offense with a home run and three RBI.
Lakers-Dodgers connection continues
The close bond between the city’s two flagship franchises was underscored by Friday’s celebration and will extend into Saturday, Aug. 9, when newly signed Lakers center Deandre Ayton is scheduled to throw out the first pitch for “Lakers Night” against Toronto. Additional Lakers personnel are expected to join Ayton in delivering the traditional “It’s Time for Dodger Baseball” call.
