Restricted free agent guard Josh Giddey has reached a four-year, $100 million agreement to stay with the Chicago Bulls, agent Daniel Moldovan of Lighthouse Sports Management told ESPN’s Shams Charania on Tuesday.

The contract is fully guaranteed and includes no player or team options, according to Moldovan. Giddey, 21, had been pursuing a five-year, $150 million package before accepting the new terms.

Path to Chicago

Chicago acquired Giddey in June 2024 in the trade that sent guard Alex Caruso to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Thunder general manager Sam Presti said at the time that Giddey expressed interest in opportunities elsewhere, leading to the deal.

“Josh has All-Star potential, but accessing that in the current construct of the Thunder would not be optimal for the collective,” Presti said when the trade was announced.

Previous Contract Figures

The Australian guard originally signed a four-year, $27.21 million rookie-scale contract with Oklahoma City in August 2021. He earned $6.58 million in 2023-24 and $8.35 million last season, both on club options.

Market Context

Giddey becomes the second restricted free agent to secure a contract in September, following Brooklyn Nets guard Cam Thomas, who accepted a one-year, $6 million qualifying offer last week. Golden State Warriors forward Jonathan Kuminga and Philadelphia 76ers guard Quentin Grimes remain the only outstanding restricted free agents this offseason.
